Lavender fields in England ??? !!! I never thought of finding one so close to Bristol. So it was an opportunity to go there with friends and spend a beautiful afternoon.
Somerset Lavender is a lavender garden with 20 varieties of lavender and around 5,000 plants. It’s so cool to be able to walk and smell the scent of lavender as if I were in France. I have a crazy love for this scent which is linked to my childhood. My grandmother always had lavender on her wardrobe and I've been doing the same thing ever since.
The lavender was planted in 2003 and since then it has continued to grow! Visitors can stroll through the lavender fields and enjoy the sight and smell of thousands of lavender plants.
Here's a rundown of everything you'll find there:
- There are 2 lavender fields : the first where we find English lavender which blooms in June and July. And then the other field which is a mixture of English lavender and hybrid which blooms in July and August.
- There are also different gardens such as : the lavender garden, the healing garden and a vegetable flower garden.
- There is also a nursery where you can find a large selection of lavender and herbs for sale to everyone's delight.
- In the farm store you can buy a whole bunch of lavender-based products and especially made on site.
- I also advise you to take a break in the cafe to taste the delicious homemade lavender and almond cake.
Useful Info:
The farm is open from May to September from Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (note that it is also open on bank holidays).

Des champs de lavande en Angleterre ???!!! Jamais je n'aurai pensé à en trouver aussi proche de Bristol. Alors, c'était l'occasion pour y aller entre amies et passer une belle après-midi.
Somerset Lavender est jardin de lavande où l'on trouve 20 variétés de lavande et environ 5000 plantes. C'est vraiment trop chouette de pouvoir marcher et ressentir le parfum de la lavande comme si j'étais en France. J'ai un amour fou pour cette senteur qui est liée à mon enfance. Ma grand-mère avait toujours dans ses armoires des bruns de lavande et depuis je fais la même chose.
La lavande a été plantée en 2003 et depuis elle ne cesse de s'agrandir ! Les visiteurs peuvent se promener dans les champs de lavande et profiter de la vue et de l'odeur de milliers de plantes de lavande.
Si vous y aller, voici un aperçu de tout ce que vous retrouverez sur place :
- Il y a 2 champs de lavande : le premier où l'on retrouve de la lavande anglaise qui fleurit en juin et juillet. Et puis l'autre champs qui est un mélange de lavande anglaise et hybride qui fleurit en juillet et en août.
- On y retrouve aussi différents jardins comme : le jardin de lavande, le jardin de guérison et un jardin de fleurs de légumes.
- Il y a également une pépinière où l'on peut retrouver une grande sélection de lavande et d'herbes mis à la vente pour le plus grand bonheur de tous.
- Sans oublier le magasin de la ferme pour acheter tout un tas de produits à base de lavande et surtout fabriqués sur place.
- Je vous conseille aussi de vous poser un moment au café afin de goûter au délicieux cake à la lavande et à l'amande fait maison.

La ferme est ouverte de Mai à Septembre du mercredi au dimanche de 10h à 17h (sachez que c'est ouvert aussi les lundis fériés).
